Safeguarding

Nothing matters more than children being safe. Every adult who works at Cwm Primary School is trained in safeguarding, and everyone (staff, families, visitors) shares the responsibility to speak up.

Who to talk to

Our Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP), Miss J Jones (Head Teacher), leads on child protection, supported by a deputy DSP. If you have any worry about a child's safety or wellbeing, however small it feels, contact the school on 01495 364825 and ask for the safeguarding lead.

Report a concern

If a child is in immediate danger, call 999.

If you're worried about a child outside school hours, you can contact Blaenau Gwent social services or the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000. You don't need to be certain. Sharing a worry is always the right call.

Our policies

Our safeguarding and child protection policy is on the policies & reports page. Photographs of pupils only ever appear on this website with the right permissions in place.
