For anything safeguarding-related, see our dedicated safeguarding page. Every document the school publishes is on the documents shelf.

School development priorities

Every year we set out the areas we are working hardest to improve, agreed with staff, governors and Estyn's most recent recommendations. Our priorities for 2026/27:

  1. 1

Raising standards in numeracy: across the school, with a focus on reasoning and problem-solving.

  2. 2

Embedding the Curriculum for Wales: so learning experiences are consistently rich, progressive and well-sequenced.

  3. 3

Improving attendance: working closely with families where getting to school is a struggle.

  4. 4

Strengthening pupil wellbeing: through our ELSA/THRIVE provision and whole-school approach to emotional health.

Sample priorities shown above, to be replaced with the school's current development plan.

Grant spending

Schools in Wales receive grants to support learners, including the Pupil Development Grant (PDG), which funds additional support for pupils eligible for free school meals or who are looked after.

Pupil Development Grant: sample statement

Our PDG funding is used to provide small-group literacy and numeracy intervention, subsidise school trips and uniform for eligible families, and fund additional learning support assistant hours. We review the impact of this spending each term with governors.
